A Look Back at Our 2008 Benefit

The Silicon Valley Toxics Coalition (SVTC) would like to thank sponsors, guests, and supporters for making our 2008 Benefit a success!

The benefit premiered the documentary by Chintan, SVTC, and IMAK on the electronic waste being shipped, dismantled, and recycled in India. The film, titled “Citizens At Risk”, raised many questions about what we can do here in the United States and what measures are being taken to address the problems, both here and abroad, regarding electronic waste and human rights.

SVTC and Chintan are currently working together to bring an end to the inhumane labor conditions and help provide children with an alternative to electronics dismantling. SVTC is also working to bring about responsible recycling, which includes not exporting e-waste to less developed countries and not using prison labor.

If you were unable to make it to the benefit and would still like to support SVTC in our work, please visit the SVTC website to make a tax-deductible donation online!

Thank you again to those who helped make our event so great and also to all those who continue to support SVTC!
